The D.O.C. is one in all West Coast gangsta rap’s secret weapons. Along with helming his solo profession, he’s penned hits for N.W.A, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, amongst others. However in 1989, because the success of his debut album No One Can Do It Higher was at its peak, he suffered a life-altering tragedy. Driving house within the wee hours of the evening, he had a horrible automobile accident that finally robbed him of his voice. “Working with The D.O.C. within the studio was a humbling expertise,” Fats Mike tells AllHipHop. “He was hesitant of recording with the Codefendants as a result of he was informed his voice was no good anymore. I feel his voice is superb! He sound like Louis Armstrong blended with Tom Waits. You may’t disguise from his efficiency. It creeps into your ears and by no means leaves.”

As for The D.O.C.’s verse, he raps with the ferocity of the veteran MC he’s, whereas briefly bearing on his hesitance to make use of his voice for music once more.
