“Spinning Round” is a tune written by Ira Shickman, Osborne Bingham (b.1963), Kara DioGuardi (b.1970) and American singer Paula Abdul and was initially to have been recorded by Abdul for a deliberate album in 2000. As an alternative, it was given to Australian singer Kylie Minogue and launched by her in June 2000 as the primary monitor from her album “Mild Years“. “Spinning Round” topped the UK and Australian singles charts and was a prime ten hit throughout Europe and in New Zealand, the place it turned her largest hit for a decade.
In 2023, the monitor was given a facelift by New Zealand DJ and producer Jolyon Petch with re-recorded vocals by British singer Lou LaBelle.
