I’m undecided Chemistry must be coated right here because it’s not technically Ok-pop. However, the track is making the rounds on Ok-pop communities and THE7’s debut Get Free was fairly enjoyable. Chemistry continues the group’s buoyant pop sound, delivering good (if generic) vibes.
Greater than something, Chemistry jogs my memory of a track you’d hear as a part of a contest collection like Produce 101. It’s boilerplate summertime fare — stable however predictable. It’s polished with a company sheen and will have been carried out by anybody. I’m biased towards this sound, however there’s nothing about Chemistry that captures me in the way in which comparable efforts by acts like Golden Baby or SHINee have.
Nonetheless, a bop is a bop. And, that is boppy sufficient.
