Primrose debuted as a duo this January, grew to become a solo act in March and at the moment are a four-member group. That’s a ton of change for a rookie act! Eagle-eyed viewers might discover Sizzling Situation’s Nahyun and bugAboo’s Rainie among the many new members. By some means, Primrose has grow to be a brilliant group — accumulating performers from fallen idol teams to avenge their good identify. Or, at the very least that’s how my thoughts processes it…
Primrose’s debut teased potential that Laffy Taffy doesn’t fairly bear out. The music is a swerve into cutesier territory, inserting sugary candy hooks over trap-adjacent percussion and booming bass. Regardless of its namesake, nothing about Laffy Taffy really sticks with me. There’s lots occurring, but little or no really occurring. I’m unsure if that is smart, but it surely’s one of the simplest ways I can describe a monitor that’s concurrently overstuffed and unengaging.
The women forged off a good groove and a few of the rap-heavier parts work properly. There’s clearly expertise right here, however Laffy Taffy wants a stronger hook and a extra unique imaginative and prescient to face out.
