Since making his breakthrough in early 2018, Holland has struggled to constantly launch music. After a blitz of singles on the finish of the final decade, Quantity Boy is his first new work in years. It’s a welcome return for the groundbreaking performer and reestablishes him as a purveyor of moody synthpop.
With this sound being modern in the intervening time, Quantity Boy is prone to win him new followers. It’s a comparatively understated effort, however its mid-tempo electro bounce has a softly anthemic high quality that fits him nicely. Holland’s vocals additional the intangible high quality of the music, given an ethereal makeover that lends his efficiency an otherworldly texture. I want there was a bit extra to the tune itself (we’d like a correct climax!), however the total method works.
