Robin Thicke has joined forces with rapper Yo Gotti for his new single “Brown Liquor.” Thicke co-wrote the intoxicating tune with Rook Monroe and co-produced it with Wealthy Skillz.
In an interview with Crisco Kidd Block Get together, Thicke revealed that he and Yo Gotti labored on “Brown Liquor” just a few years in the past. “I’ve been holding onto it for some time as a result of it didn’t actually match my final album,” he shared. “My final album was known as On Earth, and in Heaven and it was in regards to the individuals which might be right here and the folks that have moved on. It was devoted to my father, who handed away, and Andre Harrell, my mentor who handed away.”

“Brown Liquor” follows Thicke’s Rapsody-assisted monitor “Day One Buddy,” which was launched in February. The tune was a tribute to Harrell.
“The tune is devoted to @AndreHarrell, my mentor and day one buddy who taught me every little thing he knew and made my soul richer, my life higher and my journey way more enjoyable and fabulous!” Thicke wrote in an Instagram caption.
“Day One Buddy” arrived a 12 months after Thicke launched his album, On Earth, and in Heaven. The 11-track album facilities round themes of hope, optimism and love.
Most of my songs and most of my time spent in my head are about love.
