Neil Younger has shared a tribute to Canadian folks hero Gordon Lightfoot, who died yesterday on the age of 84. “I simply spoke to Gordon a couple of weeks again and he sounded joyful, though he had cancelled some reveals and was reorganizing his touring,” Younger wrote on his web site.
“I used to be saddened after I realized at present of his passing,” Younger continues. “Gordon was a terrific Canadian artist. A songwriter with out parallel, his melodies and phrases have been an inspiration to all writers who listened to his music, as they’ll proceed to be by the ages. Younger, one other Canadian folk-rock legend, famously coated Lightfoot’s “Early Morning Rain” and “If You May Learn My Thoughts” on his 2014 album A Letter Residence.
